The Morris girls played their best rugby of the season during the first half of this league match when they jumped out to a 47-0 win. The opening Kickoff was returned inside south Jersey’s 22 where Demi Pretorius was finally brought down. But scrum half Jess Nagie was right there to pick and go and then offload to Tammy Cowan for the try.

Officially, the Morris girls took first place in the league standings with a forfeit by NY who combined with Play  rugby to give the girls a game. Morris used the opportunity to move the roster around and give players a chance to try some new positions.

In what was the first warm match of the year, the Morris girls took to their full sized natural grass pitch and gave Union a 45-7 defeat. The day did not start out so positively, as Union #8 Brianna Whitfield took a penalty ball 50 meters for a score, only 5 minutes in, which they converted for their 7 points.

Rick Suggitt USA Rugby Women’s Sevens National Team Coach  met with the Morris Rugby HS and Play Rugby USA Teams after their season opener on  Sunday 3-29-15 at Central Park in Parsippany  NJ.
Where:  Farmstead Golf & CC, 88 Lawrence Road, Lafayette, NJ When:  June 26, 2015 Registration begins @ 11am,   Shotgun Start 1pm Cost:  $150
The Morris girls worked hard at practice outside in cold weather to prepare for what they expected to be a very tough match. That preparation paid off today as they dominated every phase of play, except scrums, to exact an overpowering result.
