In January of 2006, the Morris Lions Boys team started a memorial scholarship fund, "The Gibby,” to honor the memory of their teammate David Gibson. The scholarship is given to a deserving senior at the conclusion of their spring season.
The Morris U18 Girls brought their "A game" to the Mennen Arena on Sunday, defeating New York by a score of 61-10.  
After defeating Union the week before, the Morris U12 boys walked away with another hard fought win against a very good team in Greenwich Ct. 
Morris U18 Girls Rugby Mud Team
Morris Girls 5, PRUSA Girls 0 It was a good old fashioned brawl in the mud on a cold, windy and rainy day in Morristown, when two of the best teams in the NY/NJ crossover league clashed to claim the top spot.
Morris Rugby will hold its 12th annual golf outing benefiting youth rugby on Friday, June 6. 2014 at the Farmstead Country Club, located at 88 Lawrence Rd. in Lafayette, N.J. Registration opens at noon and the fun starts at 1:30 p.m.
Morris Rugby has decided to realign the boys tackle age groupings into even year increments, U12, U14, U16 and U18. The cutoff date continues to be Sept. 1. This date cutoff also aligns with USA Rugby in the sense that the CIPP year starts with Sept. 1 and ends Aug. 31 of the following year.
Morris Girls Rugby
The Morris girls took the field for the first time in this, their second season, at the Salisbury Sharks tournament in Maryland on March 15-16. The goal of this weekend was to get the cobwebs out and get in a few scrimmages in advance of their first league match against Elizabeth High School next week.
Kaitlin Shala, who plays on the Women's team, is helping organize a 5k/10k race on March 30 in Pompton Plains, N.J. to raise funds for The Kathleen Shala Memorial Foundation. Kaitlin's mother, Kathleen Shala, was a critical care nurse educator at Chilton Hospital in Pompton Plains. She made such an impact at the hospital that when she passed away in 2010 from pancreatic cancer the hospital created a foundation in her name.
Old Blue game moved to Old Blue ground due to poor ground conditions. The Mens opening Spring game against Old Blue 2nd XV has been moved to Old Blue's ground, due to the poor ground conditions in the local area caused by the weather conditions experienced this winter.
